Personal Radiation Detector Pager Devices

or, coupled with electronics that have been tuned for performance and optimized for low power, yields a very sensitive device, with fast response time, that any operator use reliably.
When the Radiation Pager detects radiation at levels above the natural background, it quickly alerts the operator by flashing a daylight-viewable indicator and by either sounding an alarm or vibrating. The operator can easily locate the radiation source using the duty-cycle based audio or vibration alerts, the single digit display, and the threshold update function.
Handheld Radiation Monitor & High Range Handheld Radiation Monitor
the HRM is a small, self-contained gamma ray and thermal neutron radiation detector for use in the interdiction and localization of nuclear materials. It was specifically designed for operators who need to quickly and discreetly detect and locate a threat device or radiological materials in an unpredictable radiation background.
As a fully militarized and ruggedized nuclear search instrument, the HRM & HR-HRM is in a class of its own. Unlike commercial-grade instruments currently available, the HRM can be carried on a parachute jump, can be used by divers underwater, and can be easily employed by gloved and equipped operators in a full range of tactical and environmental conditions. As a highly sensitive instrument for the detection of gamma and neutron radiation at standoff range, the HRM has long been established as the gold standard nuclear search handheld for elite Military, Law Enforcement, and Federal Agency operators.
The high sensitivity of the HRM is made possible by the use of a high-quality photomultiplier tube and a cesium iodide scintillator combined with a high-pressure Helium-3 filled proportional counter. It is the size of a flashlight and is intended to be handheld or worn on the operator’s belt, leg, or arm in the nylon holster
Linear Radiation Monitor (LRM)
The LRM is a self-contained gamma-ray and neutron radiation detector system for use in the interdiction and location of nuclear materials. It was specifically designed to be used in linear applications, such as the search of vessels and facilities that feature stacks of shipping containers. The LRM consists of a series of individual gamma radiation and neutron detectors on a cable, with a control module at the operator end to supply the display and communicate alarms. When deployed from the top of a stack of shipping containers, the detectors for the LRM are spaced such that a number of detectors are dedicated to measuring each container in the stack.
When gamma rays or neutrons are detected at levels significantly above the natural background, the unit quickly alerts the operator by sounding an audio alarm and employing the graphical display on the handheld control module. The operator can easily locate the radiation source using the duty-cycle based audio alarm, and/or the graphical readout. A bar graph display will locate the source in the vertical axis by showing which detector module is alarming. The LRM can also be used in a total sum mode where the various detectors are summed together to yield one very sensitive radiation detector.
RadPack & RadPack Max Backpack-Based Radiation Detection System
The STE RadPack was developed in 2000 and was derived directly from government-produced equipment used by NEST and elite military units. The RadPack is the most sensitive man-wearable neutron detector available. It employs an array of seven two-inch diameter Helium-3 tubes as neutron detectors, as well as six individual cesium iodide gamma scintillators for gamma radiation sensing. Developed specifically for military operators, law enforcement, and first responders, the RadPack is lightweight, compact, and enjoys a level of ruggedness not approached by competing equipment.
