Current Positions Available:
This is a full-time, regular position primarily tasked with the responsibility for sales, customer service and quote activities for Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. This role will comprise two primary areas of responsibility: 1) Works with customers to understand their products, capture their requirements, and prepare project proposals and contracts. 2) Providing technical support to customers and the field sales force. Support includes applications advice, product recommendations and technical problem resolution. - Meeting with customers over the phone, email, or on site to assist in technical aspects of business development - Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services - Making technical presentations and demonstrating how our products meet client needs - Managing and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs - Generating technical sales proposals and contracts (Statement of Work, Service Proposals) - Support Systems Engineering team for custom quotes to research component options and requesting quotes for outsourced components for projects or custom products - Maintaining records of customer communication and sales activity in Goldmine - Working with the engineering team to ensure development schedules and deliveries are being met - Install and configure SBIR equipment at customer sites (occasional requirement) - Attending and/or participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events - Help in developing support material for other members of the sales team and international sales reps - Resolving and managing customer expectations related to new builds and repairs - Other sales related tasks as they arise

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals related to our industry to find new sales opportunities - Ability to calculate standard math equations including discounts, commissions, interest, percentages, volumes, circumferences etc. and a grasp on basic algebra and geometry - Strong reasoning ability to define a problem, collect pertinent data and help draw valid conclusions to find a solution to a customer problems - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work well independently while managing various tasks simultaneously and when assigned a task, able to meet requested deadlines Bachelor's degree (B. A or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, as is a minimum of 7-10 years combined experience in Manufacturing Engineering, and Contracts. Due to US Export Control Regulations compliance, eligible candidates MUST be a US citizen, permanent resident or a person who has been granted asylum; proper documentation required.
